For the last week of Diapalante in 2013, we have been preparing for Christmas in style. We have been getting into the festive spirit by colouring in, learning the nativity story (I loved teaching the advanced evening class this), doing quizzes, playing board-games, creating PowerPoints on Christmas decorations (the kids loved it when I showed them how to add animations to their images), making Excel tables comparing Christmas with Senegal festivals, learning a Christmas song (possibly the most out-of-tune version of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’), playing Christmas music in the computer room (I was dancing and singing my way through the last week of term), making paper chains and even making Diapalante’s very own Christmas tree! I don’t know how we fitted it all in! Needless to say, it was a very jolly last week of term and it was sad to say goodbye to my pupils/friends. However, I have something very fun to look forward to…
